Hi, Does anyone have any tips or a female traveling alone to the Casa from the States? Is it safe to take a taxi alone from the airport? Any other tips?

Hello
I am a UK male so although Ican't answer all your questions, I can say in terms of getting to the casa from Brasilia airport, which is where most foreigners arrive, is that you can book taxis through your pousada in Abadiania. They cost 150 riales on my last visit (last April). They are totally safe. pls let me know if you need more info Rory |

HI. I have been traveling for every year for the past six years to the Casa from the states. They now have two direct flights to Brasilia. One on Delta out of Atlanta and the other on American out of Miami. I am so grateful for these flights which make the trip much less stressful. If you have not already, gone, i wish you a safe and wonderful journey.

Patte, I agree with Rory, it is totally safe. If you have a pousada booked they can send a taxi for you. This young man (auturtaxi@yahoo.com.br) speaks very good english and is a safe driver(you will appreciate that in Brazil) The rates are fixed by the Casa and are currently R180.00. I hope this helps. Blessing and Love, Doug
